Furry?. . .lol
What was the point of this thread, may I ask? Isn't a so called "furry" practically the same thing as other-kin, and wasn't there another thread for that? Are you people serious, too? lol.
The rest is silence. . .

Its more of a spiritual thing, I beleive it could be true, I mean...scientists dont know everything (even though they say they do) and they know almost nothing about the spirit/soul. So while I laugh when people say things like "oh, yes im going to change into a dragon now and enjoy a nice flight" I think that it is possible for spirits to posses other bodies and maybe even reincarnation.

Spiritu
By asking if people were serious, I wasn't by any means saying that I don't believe in spirituality or that scientists are always right. In fact, I believe very strongly in reincarnation and past lives. For all we know, there are other planes of existence too where these creatures do exist. That is another theory, which some scientists do belive in, btw. But, that just goes back to my whole thing about people trying to be something else that they're not or thinking that they're something else instead of being happy as they are and accepting themselves. I talked about this earlier in the otherkin section, but I have strong beliefs when it comes to believing in yourself and accepting yourself. That's all. But, I do belive in reincarnation and all of that stuff. After all, matter cannot be created or destroyed, only changed, and therefore people cannot totally dissapear, and neither can their energy. Well, that's all folks! (Where DID looney toons ever go? lol)

Oh, alright, well then I agree with you. I have to say that I never thought about "matter cannot be created or destroyed, only changed", I know ive heard that from somewhere and it makes me think about what does happen when you die. Personally I beleive in God and in heaven and hell but I supposed that there are other possibilities. Maybe heaven is just a holding place for you soul untill a new body can be found... And there are many interpretations of "eternal life" that the Bible promises. Im not trying to preach or anything, its just that I want to beleive in this, I want to beleive in dragon spirits and reincarnation, but I also want to beleive in God and often time the two conflict. >.<

As long as this is turning into a non offensive, purely open minded discussion thread about God and the likes I am compelled to contribute. I've never really had string beliefs in God or religion. The same applies with praying. If the Guy really does exist, he doesn't need to be bothered with my garbage and me being religious now would not save my ass from going to hell. Or Purgatory, depending on what you believe in.
But I do like to think that our 'soul' had some sort of hand in choosing what being we wanted to be in this life. And it wasn't just restricted to this planet/universe/galaxy/so on. If there really is a God, why would he be restricted to only this planet? If he really did create everything in 6 days (which always has been the most boringest creation story to me) then he'd better 'watch' over it. Okay enough on creation. Which pretty much ends this response.

"Sure Satan is king of sin and has all the powers of Hell . . . But can he see why kids love cinnamon toast crunch?"

Some clarifications are needed about topics that drift into religious discussion. Preaching, where one acclaim that his/her religious beliefs are somewhat better than everyone else and more often than not, for no particular reason, is forbidden on the board and I'm not going to feel too bad if I have to bring down the axe if seriously pressed to. The other kind of discussion is like this one, where people more or less state their opinions is more... acceptable. In both case, Rule #8 still stand no matter what.
1- Scientists don't claim to know everything; do we know a cure for AIDS? How to live forever? No or more likely... not yet. What science claims is that the scientific method is a gateway to understand everything, and up to now this methodology has proven to be successful in that regard.
2- Using the principle of Conservation of Energy to prop reincarnation / existence of soul / after life theories, discard the fact that the same principle tells us of the contrary. If in the "Energy can neither be created nor destroyed" saying is quite popular, another approach is to say that the total energy of an isolated system remains constant and it's there where you began encountering problems since the soul value must equal zero for equations to work. Now, since no one was able to measured or detected a soul by any instrument available on Earth, science concluded that there was no evidence in such claim.

lol....I'm an agnostic, I believe in a higher being, but I lack the patience and motivation to have to go to church or suffer....Constantine anybody? anyway, what Tempest says has plenty of footing. Saying that a particular event and/or existence is futile if you strive to prove it. Nevertheless, everyone is entitled to an opinion of their own and has no rights to say otherwise to anotehr person.
