Scientists in Australia sorry Australia doesn't have Dragons

Post by Corva »

Because what could be more Australian than a giant fire-breathing lizard that can fly? Except a giant fire-breathing lizard that can fly and is toxic...

Apology in response to a 7 year old girl asking for a Dragon.

Of course, if Australia did have dragons, it would be a prime place to acquire dragon eggs - I'm sure there are lots of australians who would be willing to brave the dragons lair to steal some eggs...

that was pretty cute. and i think there are a lot of people in general, not just in Australia, who would take dragons' eggs. if literal dragons walked this Earth, i'd rather if someone like the little girl interacted with them, i bet she'd be nice to them.

anyone else think the response was worded a little complicatedly for a 7-year-old?

Or think there's a problem with pointing a 7 year old girl to Game of Thrones?

i don't watch Game of Thrones, so i wouldn't know. i'm assuming it's a little above that age bracket.

Very much so.

The book is sitting on my bookshelf, but I've got to read through a couple of Novels of the Change, plus the Hobbit, before I get to it, and that's if I don;t decide to read American Gods first...

My knowledge of the series extends to the point that I know I would not point a someone twice the child's age to the series. (That is just me though)

You don't think a 14 year old is old enough? A few centuries ago, they would have been married and in a job at that point...

For some reason, however, that often doesn't show in fantasy. The questors are usually at least in their 20s, rather than just nearing the end of their teens.
